How Does WeCart Work?

It's simple. Using the WeCart website, you can shop for groceries (and more!) from stores in Lusaka. After you have placed your order, WeCart will connect you with a personal shopper in your area to shop and deliver your order. You can track your order's progress and communicate with your shopper every step of the way using the WeCart website. You pay on delivery, so you only ever pay for what you actually receive.

WeCart carries products across dairy, beverages, grocery essentials, alcohol, frozen food, toiletries, pet supplies, and more, with new items added every week. Browse from your phone or computer and add to your cart, just like any online store.

Can't find what you need? Create a special order. Write down exactly what you want and a shopper will source it for you from local stores in Lusaka.

Where we shop

WeCart gets its products from ShopRite stores. We are not affiliated with ShopRite in any way or form. If your shopper plans to get items from another store, they will contact you first so you're always in the loop.

Your groceries arrive exactly when you want them, so there's no waiting around all day. We currently deliver across Lusaka and are expanding to more areas all the time.

Meet your shopper at your door to get your groceries.

Once you place your order, a verified personal shopper heads to the store to hand-pick your items with care. You can chat with them in real time to swap items, suggest alternatives, or add something you forgot. It's like having a friend do your grocery run. You pay on delivery, so you only pay for what you actually receive. If an item is missing, damaged, or not what you ordered, you simply don't pay for it. No refund hassle, no surprises.

Delivery fees

Delivery fees depend on how far you are from the nearest store. When you enter your delivery address at checkout, we'll calculate the distance and show you the exact fee before you confirm your order. There are no hidden charges.

Your first order ships free. Every new WeCart customer gets free delivery on their first order, no minimum spend required. After that, delivery fees are based on distance and are always shown upfront so you know exactly what you're paying.

Pricing & how you pay

Product prices on WeCart reflect actual retail prices from local stores in Lusaka. We don't mark up item prices. What you see on the shelf is what you pay in your cart.

WeCart is pay on delivery. When your shopper arrives at your door, you pay for the items you actually receive. If something was out of stock or not quite right, you simply don't pay for it. No pre-charging, no refund process, no surprises.

Tipping your shopper

Your shopper is a real person who drives to the store, walks the aisles, picks your items by hand, and delivers them to your door. Tips are never required, but they're always appreciated and go directly to your shopper.

You can tip in cash on delivery or via mobile money directly to your shopper. Even a small tip goes a long way in showing your shopper that their effort mattered.

What if something is out of stock?

Sometimes a product might not be available at the store. When that happens, your shopper will message you in real time to let you know. You can suggest a substitute, pick a different brand or size, or simply skip the item. You're always in control.

Because you pay on delivery, you'll never be charged for an item you didn't receive. If your shopper can't reach you for a substitution, they'll skip the item rather than guess.

Order accuracy & quality

Our shoppers are trained to pick the freshest produce, check expiration dates, and handle items with care. Fragile items are packed separately, and frozen goods are kept cold during transit.

When your order arrives, you can inspect everything before paying. If an item is damaged, missing, or not what you ordered, let your shopper know on the spot and you won't be charged for it. Simple as that.

Ordering alcohol

WeCart offers beer, wine, and spirits from local stores. To order alcohol, you'll need to verify your age through your account settings. This is a one-time step.

Where we deliver

We currently deliver across Lusaka. When you set your delivery address, we'll show you the nearest store and whether your location is within our delivery range. We're expanding to more areas regularly, so if you're just outside our current zone, check back soon.

Do I need an account?

You can browse products without an account, but you'll need to sign in to place an order. Signing up is quick: just tap “Sign In” and log in with your Google account. That's it. We use your account to save your delivery address, track your orders, and let you chat with your shopper.

Tips for a great order

  • Be specific with quantities. Instead of “bananas,” try “6 ripe bananas.” The more detail you give, the better your shopper can match what you want.
  • Add notes to tricky items. Prefer a specific brand? Want green peppers, not red? Use the notes field on any item to guide your shopper.
  • Keep your phone nearby. Your shopper might message you about substitutions or to confirm something. A quick reply means a smoother shop.
  • Add delivery instructions. Gate code, landmark, or “call when you arrive”: anything that helps your shopper find you quickly.
  • Schedule ahead. Ordering hours before your preferred delivery time gives shoppers more flexibility and can mean better product availability.
